Current Research: Lentz' current interests are in readings and research comparing past/present educational practices and differentiated forms of schooling, evaluating their effect on learning and discipline.
Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU? " I was called to the mission field of education as an undergraduate, a calling which led me into public school education, a specific interest in middle level education, and currently collegiate education. That calling led me to places I would have never imagined, to places prepared by the Lord, and to a plan which continues to unfold. Men plan their ways, but the Lord truly directs their paths. The Lord has placed my path at SBU at this time, and I truly enjoy the sending out of missionaries to the field of education."
Educational and Professional Background: Lentz' undergraduate preparation was in Social Science and Business Education 7-12, which he used to teach at the Bolivar Middle School. He taught and coached while continuing his education at Missouri State University and at the University of Missouri-Columbia, culminating in 1997 with the completion of a Ph. D.
Faith Dedications: "My faith in Jesus Christ is the centerpiece of all that I am and all that I do, whether coaching youth sports, teaching at the college, or teaching Sunday School. Our family is involved in Crossroads, Wellspring Baptist's Wednesday night college service. The college service meets every Wednesday, and once a month breaks out into family groups for home fellowship. It has been one of the greatest blessings our family has ever experienced."
