    Title:  Foundations of Physical Fitness and Wellness
B.    Course number:  HPE 1162
C.    Credit Hours:  2 Hours
D.    Description:  Study and participation in programs recommended for development of adult physical fitness.  Emphasis is on determining level of fitness, importance of fitness in total well being, nutrition and diet selection, monitoring effect of fitness activities, selection of fitness/wellness programs, stress management, and program implementation.

III.    Lesson Instructions – Four Lessons (200 points – 50 points each)
    
A. 200 points – 50 points each.


Lesson One: Chapters 1-2

Lesson Two: Chapters 3-5

Lesson Three: Chapters 6-8

Lesson Four: Chapters 9-11

B. Questions should be answered in your own words.  Answers should be concise and to the point. Please submit original question with your answer.

C. Lessons must be typewritten in Microsoft Word 2003 or higher.

D. Lessons must be organized so I may readily find the answer.

1 - Save your lesson as a document using CCTCHPE1162-003CLesson#FullName. Where Lesson # is the lesson your are submitting along with your full name. Follow this guideline to name your assignment AND to place in your e-mail that notifies me that you have sent the assignment.

2 - Submit all lessons using the Drop Box feature found in your course.  Do not submit lessons as an e-mail attachment.

E. E-mail me and let me know when you have submitted an assignment. If you don't do this, I will not know to go look for your items. You may e-mail me using the address found in the course.

F: I will return your lessons graded.  You will find your lesson grades posted under the Report Tab or you can go back to the assignment area to view grade.

NOTE: You may find that a lesson will require a submission of a Lab that is best suited to be postal mail to me. In such case, those items should be postal mailed to:

Your final lesson grade will be incomplete until all lesson components have been submitted.

 

IV.    Lab Instructions – Eight Labs (120 points – 15 points each)

 

1 -  Print, complete an submit all eight labs. The labs are PDF files located within the courses.

 

2 -  Place a cover note on the each Lab indicating: Your Full Name, and Course ID (HPE-1162-003C)

 

3 - You may find that a lesson will require a submission of a Lab that is best suited to be postal mail to me. In such case, those items should be postal mailed to:

V.    Exam Instructions – Four Exams (400 pts – 100 points each. 50 objective questions per exam. 2 points per question)

 
A. 400 points – Exam #1- #4 are all objective 50 question exams.

Exam One: Chapters 1-2

Exam Two: Chapters 3-5

Exam Three: Chapters 6-8

Exam Four: Chapters 9-11


The exams are multiple choice and T/F.  Both are in an online format. Complete the exams only after you have submitted the required Lesson and Lab(s).

B. Please secure access to your exams by following the directions in your course.

C. There are several chapter practice quizzes. Please follow the instructions in your course.
